Turn your class into a real wild place with live animals from the Zoo! The Blank Park Zoo staff will bring animals of your choice, and if you like, we can focus on the topics that you are teaching in class and share age appropriate information with your students. In this very popular program, students will have an opportunity to touch, and ask questions about the animals.

If a visit to the Blank Park Zoo is your desire, then join us to take your curriculum a step further by challenging your students with hands-on-activities

Welcome to Connecting Kids and Culture

Connecting Kids and Culture is an initiative to enhance student learning by providing greater access to the educational programs of Des Moines area arts and cultural organizations. The program connects students and school district curriculum with arts and cultural experiences in Des Moines community. This web site connects over a thousand kindergarten through fifth grade learning objectives, in seven subject areas, from multiple central Iowa school districts, and matches them with arts and cultural experiences available in the greater Des Moines area.

Search the database of programs by learning objective, grade level, arts or cultural organization, or school district. Find an educational experience offered by an arts or cultural organization that connects with what is being taught in the classroom.
