About Connecting Kids and Culture

Our funding organizations are the Community Foundation of Greater Des Moines and Bravo Greater Des Moines.

Bravo Greater Des Moines (Bravo) is a nonprofit organization committed to strengthening the metro area's arts and cultural community as a key element of a world-class quality of life. Bravo provides a collaborative focus to nurture and grow the arts by increasing funding through public and private sources.

The Community Foundation of Greater Des Moines works to improve the quality of life for all by connecting donors with their passions, fostering links between community organizations and convening local leaders to advance the common good.

Our sponsoring partners are The Principal Charity Classic© and Winefest Des Moines.

Connecting Kids and Culture provides culturally enriching educational opportunities for elementary students and is made possible by contributions from The Principal Charity Classic© earmarked “FORE Our Kids” and Winefest Des Moines.

The Principal Charity Classic© is a community event that contributes greatly to the economic vitality and quality of life in central Iowa. The tournament serves specifically as a way to raise money for local non-profit organizations supporting children.

Using the "FORE Our Kids" theme to highlight this important effort the goal is to increase contributions to local arts, culture, health and human services organizations supporting youngsters in our area.

Winefest Des Moines was founded in 2003 to enrich the cultural, recreational, and economic landscape of metropolitan Des Moines by funding nonprofit, cultural organizations, creating economic growth opportunities and building community vitality that will aid in employee recruitment.

The Principal Charity Classic© contributions to the Community Foundation of Greater Des Moinse and BRAVO Greater Des Moines (BRAVO) combined with financial support from Winefest Des Moines support the innovative Connecting Kids and Culture program.
